Here at Ivex Specialty Paper, we finished off 2020 by welcoming our newest team member, Zachary Blakewell, as our new Process Optimization and Product Development Engineer. Zach earned his B.S. in Paper Engineering at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo Michigan.
Throughout his undergraduate degree, he amassed an impressive amount of knowledge and experience including two summer internships with Paperworks Industries in Wabash, Indiana (2016 and 2017) and an additional two summers at New Indy Containerboard in Ontario, California (2018 and 2019).
Zach’s experience working with product testing and development will be very helpful as we continue to develop new grades and help solve our customers’ biggest problems. We’re really excited to have him on board and look forward to all the great things he’ll do here in Peoria.– Bill Platt, General Manager
Zach has already been busy as part of the team that is upgrading our paper machine. He also works hands on with Ivex’s operators to implement trials and process modifications. And, his LEAN Six Sigma green belt certification has proved to be an asset to the team as well.
In my new position, I’m looking forward to using my education to reduce waste and improve process efficiencies, including implementing LEAN process improvement methodology to promote more efficient operations and safe work practices.– Zachary Blakewell, Process Optimization and Product Development Engineer
We are all delighted to have Zach as part of our Ivex family and look forward to being part of his career path as a paper professional!
